History

The Pan American Junior Championships in Athletics is a biennial international competition for athletes between 16 and 19 years of age in the Pan American region.

The first Championship was held in Sudbury, Canada in 1980.  Other hosts include: 1982 Barquisimeto (VEN), 1984 Nassau (BAH), 1986 Winter Park (USA), 1989 Santa Fe (ARG), 1991 Kingston (JAM), 1993 Winnipeg (CAN), 1995 Santiago (CHI), 1997 Havana (CUB), 1999 Tampa (USA), 2001 Santa Fe (ARG), 2003 Bridgetown (BAR), 2005 Windsor (CAN), 2007 Sao Paulo (BRA), 2009 Trinidad & Tobago (TRI) .

USA Track & Field and the City of Miramar, Florida are honored to be hosting the 2011 Pan American Junior Championships.  We welcome all participants to the United States and the City of Miramar and extend our best wishes to all competitors.
